The Hay Basket Bag • RB Ukraine

The Hay Basket Bag best reflects the idea of how traditions can continue to live in a modern context. The rattan handle is crafted in Zakarpattia's Iza (a Ukrainian center of wickerwork) by local artisans, the straw base is handwoven for 10 hours, and the name Hay is inspired by the texture of the natural material, reminiscent of a haystack.

At the same time, this woven basket is also inspired by global culture. The main French ambassador of straw bags, Jane Birkin, rebelled against perfectionism in her looks and preferred items that looked "alive." Every crease, every scratch, every imperfection tells a story, and each story is unique.
Each of our bags is handmade from natural materials, which means no two are 100% identical. You may notice slight differences in shape, base shade, and decor, all of which emphasize their uniqueness.
